Go Speed Buggy!

Glade Sutherland is not only full of hot-rod history; it seems he can whip up something truly unique in the garage. We saw this little green buggy at the Mountain West Street News Picnic and asked him if he would be kind enough to share a few photos of the car and a bit of its history with us, which he did.

Glade Built the Buggy in 1966. The car was built on a 1956 VW chassis and it currently runs a 2085cc motor, IRS Bus Trans and a Ghia front axle with disk brakes. Glade also mentioned that the car was autocrossed for several years and did very well and that it has been on nearly every mountain road and trail in Utah and several of the surrounding states! That’s a claim I don’t imagine too many show cars can make! I think this car was on my lunchbox when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing this great little car with us!
