Many of you probably recognize this roadster. It was driven by Jack Harris and held the national B/Street Roadster record for most of the 60’s. Many of you may wonder what happened to the car, well thanks to an email from its current owner, Corey Chatelain in Henry, Idaho we now know! We at thanks2frank would like to thank Corey for taking the time to write up a little history on the car and for sharing these photos with us
This photo is courtesy of Jack Harris himself. It was taken just after he removed the Wood Motor Company lettering from the body on the day he sold the roadster.

(from Corey's Email)
I bought the car around 1986 from a friend in Ogden by the name of Dean Hart. He owned an automotive machine shop on 27th street. He now lives in Southern California, the last I heard. I was in the Stags Car Club at the time so I had heard stories of the car and saw pictures of it as Jack Harris, the original owner, had been in the club years earlier.
The car is an all steel 1930 Ford Roadster with a boxed model A frame. The rear differential is a mid 50s Oldsmobile with a 4:10 ratio posi. The front end is a model A straight drop axle leaf spring with wishbone trailing arms.
I have alot of the original parts that were on the car when Jack raced it, including the bobbed steel rear fenders, the Moon gas tank and gas pedal, and even the 5 spoke front wheels that are in the pics you sent me. I was told that Jack's wife gave those wheels to him for some special occasion.
I bought the car with no motor or tranny, a rolling chassis only. Originally my plan was to restore the car to it's race form and Nostalgia race it. More than likely now it will just be driven on the street as an old Hot Rod. The car has been stored in my garage or shop now since I've owned it but has been put on the back-burner as I raised my two boys and since moved to Idaho. My plans are to get it on the street or strip once I've finished building my log home here in Idaho. The car is currently in primer as you can tell from the pics I sent you and will probably stay in a primered old-style Hot Rod look as I'm not into the high-dollar trailer queen look or genre. I'm an old Hotrodder not a car show kind of guy so that's how the car will be as long as I own it.
